Indian Airlines Roll Out Middle East Flights for Stranded Travelers

The U.S. and Israel’s attack on Iran is continuing to impact travel across the Middle East, affecting millions of Indian expats, students, and travelers present in the region and leaving an unknown number stranded. Indian Olympic Badminton player PV Sindhu, was among those stuck in the Gulf region due to airspace closures and has missed joining the All England tournament as a result.
While Sindhu posted on X that she had returned to India by Tuesday morning, many other Indian nationals are still trying to find out ways to return. Indian airlines have stepped up by operating special flights to help those who are stranded.
The Indian government’s Press Information Bureau reported on Tuesday morning: “Airlines are deploying additional capacity where required and coordinating closely with foreign aviation authorities and Indian missions abroad to ensure safe and orderly passenger movement,” it posted on X.
