Temperatures above 35°C and Strong Winds Starting This Friday in Costa Rica ⋆ The Costa Rica News
Temperatures up to 35°C, wind, partly cloudy skies, and little rain, according to the National Meteorological Institute (NMI).
“Typical March conditions will continue on Friday. Due to light cloud cover, high temperatures are expected in the central part of the country, as well as in coastal areas,” said Juan Diego Naranjo of the NMI.
“Between noon and 2 p.m., maximum temperatures are expected to reach 30°C in the Greater Metropolitan Area and west of the Central Valley,” he added.
• Temperatures will exceed 35°C in Guanacaste
• 34°C in Puntarenas
• 32°C in Limón and the Northern Zone
Meanwhile, winds will continue to affect several regions across the country.
According to the forecast, winds will remain moderate to strong in the central and northern parts of the country, with gusts ranging from 20 km/h to 40 km/h. In the Northern Pacific, gusts could reach up to 60 km/h.
“Over the Caribbean Sea, atmospheric pressure will remain high. Consequently, trade winds will have strong gusts in the Pacific and the Central Valley, reaching highs of 80 to 90 km/h on Friday and Saturday,” forecasts the NIM.
Regarding rainfall, some short-lived heavy showers are expected in the South Pacific.
