ALH Grows to 3,000 Rooms with Major Central Texas Expansion
American Liberty Hospitality (ALH) has expanded its third-party management into Central and South Texas, adding a portfolio of 1,000 rooms and growing ALH to more than 3,000 rooms across Texas and Louisiana.
The family-owned and -operated hospitality management company was selected for its management approach that consistently outperforms competitors in market share and service, bolstered by strong brand and industry relationships, said Nick Massad III, principal at ALH.
“Being the best wherever we operate has always been our goal, and this addition is another important milestone on that path,” said Massad. “We have this opportunity because of our team, who love hospitality and understand how to achieve ownership goals.”
The new portfolio is split between full-service and focused-service properties and features Marriott, Hilton, IHG and independent brands, including Estancia del Norte San Antonio, Staybridge Suites San Antonio Downtown Convention Center, TownePlace Suites by Marriott San Antonio Universal City/Live Oak, among others.
Spearheading hotel operations is Scott Austin, a 15-year ALH veteran newly elevated to chief operating officer. Austin has consistently led teams with a people-first approach, achieving market share success and guest satisfaction across all properties.
“We’re excited to work side by side with seven new incredible hospitality teams,” Austin said. “Hospitality with intention is our purpose, and we’re excited to implement our winning formula to outperform our competition and continue to deliver results.”
To support the expanded portfolio, Austin’s first action as COO was to welcome Robert Thrailkill as divisional vice president of operations. Thrailkill brings more than 25 years of senior hospitality leadership experience, providing strategic and operational guidance across the portfolio with a focus on full-service excellence and talent development.
Thrailkill joins an accomplished corporate team with expertise across hotel management disciplines, including revenue management, sales, food and beverage, accounting and human resources.
Headquartered in Houston, ALH franchises and operates all major brands — including Hilton, Marriott and IHG — and employs more than 750 team members across eight full-service and 11 select-service or extended-stay properties. With multiple new developments and management opportunities in motion for 2026, ALH is preparing for continued expansion while remaining focused on people-first, data-driven operations that deliver value for owners, guests and the community.
