Hilton Targets India’s Midscale Market With 125-Hotel Royal Orchid Deal

Hilton has entered into a strategic partnership with Royal Orchid Hotels to expand its Hampton by Hilton brand in India. 

Royal Orchid’s youth-oriented arm Regenta Hotels and Hilton will open 125 Hampton by Hilton properties in order to fast-track Hilton’s growth in India’s upper midscale segment, according to a joint statement released on Wednesday. 

These properties will operate under a franchise model, and will “primarily be developed across western and southern markets, including Goa, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,” Hilton said. 

“India’s economic growth, expanding middle class and rapid infrastructure development are reshaping the country’s travel landscape, creating significant opportunities for our brands,” Alan Watts, president for Asia Pacific at Hilton, said. He added that the partnership would allow the company to “scale our franchise footprint rapidly while maintaining th
