In the final part of our Sustainability Q&A series, GCSTIMES highlights how we drive environmental performance across our operations, logistics and waste management, while supporting customers in achieving their own sustainability goals.

Q21: How do you reduce emissions in transportation?

We take a proactive approach to reducing transportation-related emissions by working with low-carbon logistics partners and continuously optimising routes and shipment consolidation to improve efficiency. In addition, we are adopting lower-carbon transport solutions, including participation in sustainable aviation fuel-related programmes, to further reduce our logistics footprint.

Q22: How do you manage waste across our operations?

Waste management is another key focus area across our operations. We aim to minimise waste generation at source while implementing structured waste segregation, recycling and resource recovery programmes. Through collaboration with external partners, we support reprocessing and reuse solutions that contribute to circularity. At the same time, we ensure that all pollutant discharge is managed in compliance with regulatory requirements, supported by third-party monitoring.

Q23: What energy and equipment improvements have you implemented?

To improve energy performance, we invest in equipment upgrades and process optimisation to reduce overall energy consumption. We are also progressively increasing the share of renewable energy in our operations. These efforts are supported by energy monitoring systems and continuous improvement mechanisms, enabling us to track performance and identify further efficiency opportunities.

Q24: How do you support customers in reducing carbon emissions?

Beyond our own operations, we actively support customers in reducing their environmental impact. With “products as carbon reduction tools” at the core of our approach, we provide verifiable and practical solutions. This includes product carbon footprint data to support Scope 3 reporting, low-carbon solutions with supporting documentation, and assistance with sustainable procurement and supply chain compliance, such as FSC certification, Supplier Code of Conduct requirements and third-party assessments. We also offer packaging reduction and recycling solutions to help customers enhance their sustainability performance and achieve certification standards such as Green Key.
