What 170 AI Job Listings Reveal About Who Is Actually Building in Travel

I have a habit that probably says more about me than I’d like to admit, which is that I read job descriptions the way some people read earnings transcripts, to find the hidden signals on strategy and direction.

So this Sunday morning while kids were still in bed, using my Claude brain I pulled roughly 170 AI-related job postings from 13 major public travel companies, posted between January and April 2026, and coded each one by seniority level, technical specificity, organizational placement, and compensation. The companies span OTAs, hotels, airlines, and GDS infrastructure. The full classification is in the chart below.

The thesis is simple: The job description is arguably the one strategy document a company cannot fake, because it needs to attract the right person, which means the language has to be honest about what is actually being built.
