Lemon Tree Hotels Logs ‘Record’ Year with Asset-Light Strategy

Lemon Tree Hotels reported a “record year” of expansion in fiscal 2026: The hotel chain signed 56 new properties and opened 20 hotels for the year through March 2026, it said in a statement Monday.

The group announced in January it would split into two parts. Lemon Tree Hotels will follow an asset-light model, focusing on managing and expanding hotels without owning them, while a separate platform, Fleur Hotels, will handle owning and building hotel properties.

The change is meant to allow Lemon Tree grow faster by partnering with third-party hotel owners instead of spending significant time and capital on building properties itself.

Fleur Hotels, on the other hand, will focus on investments and ownership.

Lemon Tree has 131 operational hotels with over 11,000 rooms, along with a pipeline of 138 upcoming properties across its brands, including Lemon Tree, Aurika, Red Fox, and Keys.
